Capturing light, that is what it is all about. To capture light at the best possible moment so that the picture tells a story, or at least raises some questions.
What happened here? Who is she? What happened next?
Sometimes you controll the light and all other factors, sometimes you dont.
It starts with an idea. Then it is all about mimmickin what is pictured.
For me, the story is important. Pictures should tell a story or at least raise some quiestions. To just show a perfect facade hiding private despair, hiding the unmasked truth works for a while, but i believe that the common man want real stories that are truthful.
For me, I rather have ugly with a good story than pointless beauty.
I love sports, but with skiing it is different. Its more than love. I can ski with my family for a week and have a blast. Just jumping around the slopes with my daughters or ski slow and learn the youngster to ski.
But STRIDERS are even better, we are a small crew that does backcountry skiing. sometimes with a campervan, sometimes at my cabin. Strider means a person who walks rapidly with long steps and that is a bit missguiding for our particular crew. We do it for the RIDE DOWN. But, we enjoy the walk up more and more.
